I use a 20V Stanley Fatmax battery and have had no issues until yesterday when I tried charging it and it showed me nothing on the charger.
It was like a complete silence from the battery or as if the battery just decided to act dead in front me. I was left confused and did not know what to do so this is where I opened Google and looked for a fix.
I also made a short video about this topic and you may want to watch it first before you continue reading this article. You can watch it below.
On the video, I briefly discussed the different meanings of the indicator lights on a Stanley Fatmax battery charger and then I demonstrated how you can fix this issue by using another healthy Stanley Fatmax 20V battery.
How To Fix Stanley Fatmax Battery Not Charging
Here is what I found and here how you can fix your Stanley Fatmax battery not charging.
The Stanley Fatmax battery charger that I use has only three indicators for charging, it either turns solid green when fully charged or it blinks green when charging or a red light when the battery is too hot or too cold to be charged.
I also made a short video about this topic which I uploaded on my YouTube channel but you can also watch it below.
These are the usual lights that I am used to seeing but when I saw nothing on the charger I was very confused until I found out that the Stanley Fatmax charger doesn’t have any indicator or light for when the battery is dead unlike other battery chargers that indicate a bad battery condition by flashing light codes.
So then how did I confirm if my battery was dead?
There are two scenarios in which your battery may be dead, when the charger shows green light but the battery itself shows empty battery, and the other is when the charger itself doesn’t show any indication of charging the battery indicator doesn’t even light up.
If you are struggling with this situation don’t worry and just follow these steps.
To fix this problem I used another Stanley Fatmax healthy battery and connected its positive terminal to the positive of the dead battery and then repeated the same with the negative terminal, negative to negative using a pair of jumper wire cable.
Then I left them connected for 15 seconds and then disconnected the batteries, you wont believe but this was enough to fix the battery.
Then I tried charging the battery again and the charger flashed green like it was Christmas. This small fix helped me save money and also brought my Stanley Fatmax battery back to life.
I also have a video about this this and the two other ways you can do to reset your Stanley Fatmax 20V battery without using a charger. You can watch the video below.
So the next time you face this problem, don’t just throw the battery away try fixing it using this method.
