How I Repaired My Luxe Bidet Nozzle Not Retracting: 3 Methods

Luxe bidets are mostly automatic mechanisms you can attach to your toilet. They’re easy to control and require minimal input. Even their movement is automatic after installment.

You don’t have to move anything by force manually… unless there’s something wrong. In the case that your Luxe bidet nozzle is not retracting when you need it to, here’s what could be wrong:

3 Causes For A Luxe Bidet Nozzle Not Retracting

  1. Mineral Build-Ups

Something I’ve noticed about people whose Luxe bidet is not retracting is that most commonly happens to people who live in areas with a lot of hard water.

Hard water is super common all across the world. You can find it in abundance anywhere from states in the US to areas of Europe and Asia. Unfortunately, that’s not a very good thing.

minerals harden and gather in crevices, where they form blockages.

While there are some great benefits of drinking hard water, it isn’t the best for the skin. It causes dry skin, hair problems, and some other things when you shower with it regularly.

The minerals inside them are great for us though, and help with nutritional intake. But, those same minerals are really bad for your Luxe bidet and its nozzle.

That’s because minerals have a tendency to harden and gather in crevices, where they form blockages. If you live in an area with hard water, these minerals might be what’s stopping your nozzle from retracting.

search for mineral build ups

You can see in the image above that my Luxe bidet doesn’t have those build-ups. When yours does, it’ll be notable as mineral stains are strongly present, and stand out because of their yellow color.

In case there are mineral stains on your Luxe bidet, I recommend taking it out of the toilet immediately. Soak its parts with mineral stains in a bowl of vinegar.

Vinegar breaks away at the minerals and makes them dissolve. This removes the stains and gets rid of any blockages. That’ll help the tool retract freely from now on, with nothing in its way.

  1. Nozzle Too Close To The Tank

The Luxe bidet must be properly installed

Most people don’t know that many Luxe bidet problems are caused by improper installation. One example of this is the tool not retracting, which is what you’re encountering right now, no?

Improper installation results in things like this happening because components of the bidet don’t have the proper space they need to function the way you want them to.

If the nozzle on a Luxe Bidet is too close to the toilet, it doesn’t have the right space to retract or come out. So, do what I’ll say in the image below to avoid this.

nozzle too close to toilet tank

In case your nozzle is truly too close to the toilet tank, the only solution is to take out the Luxe bidet and install it all over again.

This time, ensure there are no mistakes like last time, and that everything has adequate spacing. Then, the nozzle on your bidet will have the room it needs to retract freely.

Luxe Bidet Working Properly

  1. Forceful Blockages

Sometimes, simple troubleshooting isn’t enough and you need to get your hands dirty. Well, this is one of those times, in a very literal sense.

If the other two fixes I’ve told you about were no help, I think there might be a strong blockage or restricting force around the nozzle that’s stopping it from retracting.

For that, you’ll need to get your hands on the Luxe bidet, like me in the photo down here. But, you want to specifically aim for the nozzle.

move the bidet with your hands

Use a glove or something else to cover your hand and grab onto the nozzle when it’s not retracting. Then, yank it towards yourself firmly but not too forcefully. Pushing it down is also an option.

Either way, the applied force will help move the nozzle on your Luxe bidet. That will free it from whatever is blocking it, allowing it to retract from now on!
