Luxe bidets make life a lot easier for some people inside their washrooms. That’s because they’re highly convenient and reliable that easily attach to most toilet seats.

But, despite how simple they are, issues pop up every now and then. If you want to learn more or are currently facing these issues, check out these troubleshooting tips for common Luxe bidet problems!

Troubleshooting 4 Common Luxe Bidet Problems

  1. Not Spraying In The Right Area

Something I saw a lot of users mention was that their Luxe bidet doesn’t spray in the right area.

This can when the nozzle moves on its own after a few months of installation and regular use or during installation itself.

Either way, the nozzle is away from the direction it needs to be in. Get it back to where the nozzle should be to fix this (obviously). To do that, you’ll need to start by opening the guard gate.

With the guard gate open, retract the nozzle entirely into the bidet. Then, turn the nozzle using your hands or a small tool to change its direction to where you want it to spray out water.

After you adjust the nozzle’s direction, water should spray exactly in the areas you want. You won’t have any issues with the bidet making a mess by spraying elsewhere.

  1. Complicated Installation

When it comes down to use itself, Luxe bidets are incredibly simple in their operation. But, the hard part is the installation, which usually takes a lot of care to get right.

The Luxe bidet must be properly installed

That’s because there are several things that can potentially go wrong. I already told you about how the direction of the nozzle may be wrong.

However, there are other things beyond that too. The Luxe bidet itself may not be sitting right with your seat. It may be at an angle that’s not comfortable to sit on, or preventing the toilet seat from closing.

These are relatively smaller things, but they’re still annoying and get in the way of use. The tool should look like it does for me in this picture below, where it’s perfectly connected to the seat.

I think the biggest potential problem during installation is air bubbles left inside the pipes. These bubbles are seriously bad for the pipes and can cause major bursts.

These bubbles are left inside when the pipes aren’t aired out properly during the installation of the Luxe bidet. It’s an easy mistake to make, but one you have to be very mindful of.

You can tell when this happens if you hear a loud noise every time you flush the toilet. This loud noise is because of the pressure due to the air bubbles inside your pipes.

This is something that you need to deal with immediately. So, turn off the water supply, completely remove all components of your Luxe bidet, and then turn the water supply back on.

With the bidet removed, flush the toilet. Now you just need to reinstall the Luxe bidet with the toilet emptied, and that should make sure no air bubbles stay inside this time around.

  1. Uncomfortably High Water Pressure

Another thing I saw people complain about is the water supply being a little too high for comfort. This is something really common for new users, but it’s also really easy to fix.

Luxe bidets actually come with built-in settings for the water pressure. You can even see these settings on my own bidet below.

adjust the water pressure

If you feel the water pressure isn’t to your liking, just twist the knob in the photo above. Adjust it to be lower or higher, depending on what you need, and that should fix it!

But, if you feel the pressure is still too high, I recommend checking the water supply valve. The pressure on that valve itself may be too high, so turn it down to reduce it on your bidet as well.

  1. Luxe Bidet Nozzle Not Retracting

minerals harden and gather in crevices, where they form blockages.

Do you live in an area where the pipes have a lot of hard water in them? If so, that would explain why your Luxe bidet’s nozzle is not retracting as it should.

Hard water includes minerals that can stick to surfaces. They then dry out and become hard.

Eventually, enough of these minerals can form around the tool to make it impossible for the nozzle to move. So, make sure that there’s nothing like that stopping movement.

not retracting from toilet

In case there are mineral blocks or something else stopping the nozzle from retracting, there’s an easy solution for this. All you need to do is uninstall the Luxe bidet and disassemble its components.

Then, soak the nozzle component in vinegar for a while. That will break away any dirt, minerals, or other blockages. There will be free space for the nozzle to move, and it will retract as it should!
