Your devices need to be charged if you want them to work. Nothing’s going to work without power, and that’s exactly why I take good care of my chargers.

But, if it just so happens that your Bosch battery charger is not working, I have the tips you need to get it working again.

Bosch Battery Charger Not Working: 4 Solutions

  1. Power Supply Issue and Faulty Power Cord

Whenever there’s an issue with any charger, I always check the power supply first. Most chargers are durable and built to last, which is why I think there could be something else wrong.

The power supply being faulty is one of the most common things to watch out for when this happens.

Use a multimeter to test the voltage output on the power source. I recommend testing out the charger on a few different outlets to see if it works on any of them.

If you have no luck, I suggest checking the charger’s power cord. It’s the most vulnerable part of any charger, and I’ve had a bunch of faulty cords ruin perfectly good chargers over the years.

Check the cord for twists, cuts, or tears. Any kind of visible damage or disruption could be responsible for the charger not working anymore.

  1. Overheating

Overheating is a common problem for chargers, and I’ve had issues with my Bosch battery charger’s temperature every now and then too. Most of the chargers from the brand come with a temperature range of 0–45 °C.

Make sure that your charger’s readings don’t go below or above this.

If they do, immediately unplug it and let it rest for a few hours. Keep it in a suitable environment and not anywhere too warm or too cold.

Keep it disconnected from all power supplies and devices for at least a day, and then it should be back to optimal temperatures.

I highly suggest that all the people reading this take good care of this particular issue, as overheating chargers can ruin entire devices.

  1. Incorrect Voltage Setting

Bosch battery chargers come in multiple different voltage types. For example, your charger might have a different voltage than mine. Keeping track of this voltage is important because some devices only work with a certain level of power.

If I tried to charge a device, like for example a Bosch leaf blower that isn’t compatible with my charger, it wouldn’t work. In fact, it could even cause issues like overheating or overcharging.

Make sure that the devices you connect to your Bosch charger are compatible with it, and that you aren’t using the wrong voltage settings to charge them as it won’t work.

  1. Dead or Bad Battery

Earlier, I mentioned that chargers are pretty durable. So, I advise looking at another possible culprit instead; your battery itself. Dead or bad batteries won’t work with charger.

Dead or bad batteries won't work with charger.

I have made a video about this which you can watch below. In this video, the battery charger blinks a red light.

Read this post to know more about the meaning of light on the bosch charger.

This indicates that something is wrong with the battery itself. To fix this issue, you need to reset the faulty Bosch battery.

To do this, you need to have another Bosch battery (should be working) with the specs. Connect the positive and negative terminal of the two batteries.

After a while, check if the power flows through the battery in balance. This should have reset the Bosch battery and fix the battery not charging issue.

I also have another video about the different meaning of the light indicators on a Bosch battery charger. You can watch this video below.

I you see a blinking green it means the battery is charging and it will turn into a solid green once the battery is fully charged.

A blinking red meanwhile means it detected a bad battery and a solid red means a hot or cold relay.

So, it could be that the battery you’re using with your Bosch charger is the one that’s problematic, and not the charger itself.

Once again, you’ll need a multimeter. Put the battery inside of its corresponding device and use the tool to see if there’s any voltage.

I also recommend connecting it to another battery and trying to jumpstart it before trying to charge it again. That should add some life to it and allow your Bosch battery charger to work with it.
