I have had my fair share of experiences with the APC battery backup since I owned it, but nothing was more irritating and frustrating than hearing the constant beeping of the APC battery backup even when there was a normal power supply.
First, I thought something was off with the way I was using the battery backup, but even with normal usage, the beeping wouldn’t go away. After researching on the internet, I found a couple of fixes, and I’m going to explain to you how to fix the constant beeping on the APC battery backup.
I have also made a short YouTube video about how you can fix this issue. You can watch it down below before continue reading this article.
You can stop the beeping by removing the buzzer. An APC UPS without a buzzer will not be able to beep anymore.

2 Ways to Fix APC Battery Backup Beeping Continuously
Method 1: Reset The Battery
1. Disconnect the power cord from the APC battery backup and also disconnect the battery connector below the backup case. The battery connector is the yellow tab installed to safely disconnect the battery in case of receiving it as a new unit or in emergency cases.
2. Reconnect the battery connector to the APC battery backup connecting the internal battery to the unit and then replug the power cord.
3. This reset of your APC battery backup might resolve the beeping issues as the reset would help in reinitialize the battery status.
Method 2: Disconnect The Internal Battery
1. This method can be followed if the APC battery backup keeps beeping when you are out of power and you need to use the backup. Turn off the APC backup and disconnect the backup from the power cord and, also pull the yellow battery connector to disconnect the battery safely.
2. Open the cover of the APC battery backup carefully by removing the screws and gently lift it.
3. After the cover is off and the UPS is disconnected from the power source, carefully remove the battery connectors of the internal battery to disconnect it from the board.

4. After that, locate the buzzer module, which usually looks like a black, round sound module soldered to the board. With the help of soldering iron and a plier you can remove it out of the board to eliminate any beeping sound once and for all.
Make sure to be careful when performing this step you might not want to damage other components on the board.
It took me a little time to make sense of what was happening, but once I understood what was making the sound, I knew what to do. This beeping sound, even on power on, usually occurs when the APC battery backup is trying to tell the user about a possible problem such as, weak internal battery or when the battery backup is under too much load.
Whatever might be your case following these steps will help you eliminate all the beeping sound of your APC battery backup.
