There are many possible reasons why your Manscaped trimmer is fully charged but it’s still not working. These article discusses some of these and the solutions you can do in order to fix this issue.

But before you continue reading this article you may want to first watch the short video I’ve made about this topic. I’ve uploaded it on my YouTube channel but you can also watch it below.

On my video I discussed some of the possible causes and solutions to this problem like if the travel lock is accidentally activated, a battery or charging problem, or an on/off switch problem.

4 Reasons Why Manscaped Fully Charged But Not Working

1. Travel Lock Activated

press the power button three times and the trimmer will be locked

This can come as a surprise but if the travel lock is activated, your trimmer will not work even after fully charging it. It is a safety feature in the trimmer that prevents the trimmer from running accidentally and can be triggered by mistake.

To activate it, press the power button three times and the trimmer will be locked and to remove it to do the same and press the power button three times again to remove the lock. Make sure your trimmer is unlocked before using it.

2. Battery or Charging Problem

I have owned the trimmer for a very long time now, and there would be no surprise to find out that my battery might be dead or the wireless charging coil could be damaged.

I opened the trimmer apart and removed it battery pack to place it into the charging base

The Manscaped trimmer uses an wireless inductive charging and to check if it worked properly I opened the trimmer apart and removed its battery pack to place it into the charging base, I saw a blinking LED light which meant that the charging process was working fine but if you don’t see any light then your wireless could might be damaged.

look for swollen or expanded batteries

Alternatively look for swollen or expanded batteries which might indicate that your battery health is bad and needs replacement.

I checked the health of my battery using a multimeter and it clocked out perfectly at 3.78V, but if you see a number far below this mark it might be time to change the battery.

3. On/Off switch Problem

If your battery health is fine and the voltage of the battery is close to 3.7V then the trimmer might not work due to a bad PCB or on/off switch problem.

If your trimmer doesn’t turn on even after being fully charged it might be due to a faulty board or short circuit that might have happened due to overcharging or water damage. Replacing the board can fix this issue for you but it can be hard to source.

4. Motor Problem

In the end if your board seemed fine and your Manscaped trimmer still didn’t come back to life then it can be a case of dead motor. To test this, I joined three 1.3V AA batteries together to simulate a 3.7V of current and directly connected it to the motor.

If your motor was fine the LED would light up with the motor spinning like usual, but if your motor has gone bad the motor won’t spin. In this case replacing the motor with a similar can fix the issue of Manscaped trimmer fully charged but not turning on.
