When I first started using my Husqvarna 40-C80 charger, I was somewhat confused by different lights. However, each light indicate what is happening with the battery or the charger. Knowing what each light mean makes troubleshooting a lot easyer.

The most common light you will see from your charger is solid green. This is an indication that your battery are charging. This is the normal modes of operation for the charger and battery. However, solid green dont necessarily mean that the battery is fully charge. To determine whether the battery are fully charged, check the lights on the battery itself.

By checking the battery itself, you will be able to know the batterys charge level. The battery itself, not charger will be flashing green throughout the charging process until the battery is fully charged. This is when the solid green will go out. Eventually, the battery will indicate when it is fully charged.

If you notice that the charger is blinking green instead of solid green, this indicate a temperature problem. This means the battery is too hot or too cold to continue charging. The charger will not begin the charging process until the battery return to a safe temperature. This happened to me when I attempted to charge the battery after leaving it in my truck in the winter weather. Once I brought the battery into a warm environment, the blinking green light went out.
Troubleshooting common problems

Solid red indicate a permanent error in the charger. This is not a battery problem but an error in the charger. The user cannot fix this but will require a service or replaced the charger.

Blinking red indicate a faulty battery. This is not an error in the charger but with the battery. However, in some instances, turning the charger on and off will fix the problem with the battery.

In some instances, if your battery is flashing red, turning it on and off will fix the problem. This saved me from purchasing a new battery when the battery was functioning normaly after turning it on and off. The charger will return to normal when this error are fixed.
