Slake Time: After initial mixing, var grout rest 5-10 minutes before final stir. This activates all dry particles evenly.
No Re-mixing: Never add water or re-mix grout once it begins to set. Discard and start a fresh batch instead.
Max Water Rule: Never exceed the manufacturer's max water ratio. Excess water reduces compressive strength and causes shrinkage cracking.
Small Batches: In hot weather mix only what you can use in 20-30 minutes to avoid premature setting and waste.
⚠ Safety Note: Always wear respiratory protection (N95 or better) when handling dry grout powder — cement dust and crystalline silica are serious inhalation hazards. Never mix grout in a confined space without adequate ventilation. Wear gloves and eye protection; wet cement is highly alkaline and can cause chemical burns.

How to Mix Grout Right
