Bissell Little Green Proheat Not Spraying – How To Fix

Do you know that feeling when you are all ready to clean that stubborn carpet stain only to realise that your Bissell Little Green Proheat isn’t working and is not spraying any water?

Well that was me last weekend frustrated, and irritated by my cleaner’s lifeless spray nozzle. Instead of giving up, I decided to take things in my own hand.

I took over the internet to find solutions. It turns out that Bissell Little Green Proheat not spraying water can be caused by multiple reasons such as blocked hose, clean water tank not dispensing water and water output valve being broken.

By the way, I’ve also made a video about this topic and you can watch it below.

First, I remove the brush head and nozzle cover to check for any blockage inside the water hose. Then I clean the water tank and let it seat properly. After this, I squeezed the clean water tank to prime the water pump.

2 Ways to Fix Bissell Little Green Proheat Not Spraying

Here are two of the most common fixes to bring your Bissell Little Green Proheat back to spraying terms.

Method 1 – Clean the Hose Free of any Blockages

clean the water output hose free of any dust and debris.

1. The very first method I decided to follow was to clean the water output hose free of any dust and debris.

The hose of your Bissell Little Green Proheat is responsible for spraying and vacuuming the water out of the carpet and other fabrics and sometimes debris can get stuck inside the water output pipe which is a very small rubber pipe.

Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that held the plastic cover in place.

2. Check if the hose is dispensing water even when the cleaner is turned off, if not it’s time to go deep. When this happened to me I knew something was stopping the water from coming out of the hose.

I immediately grabbed a Phillips screwdriver and popped the hose open by removing the two screws that held the plastic cover in place.

3. I then grabbed a torch light to inspect any debris or dirt that might be stuck inside the pipe or the water output valve. I recommended using a fine needle or specialized cleaning tool to remove the block if you find any.

I used a torch light

4. Take an empty bucket and while the hose is pointed inside the bucket turn on the cleaner and press the white button to release water.

If you see water coming out of it congratulations you just fixed the problem, but if the problem still persists don’t worry just follow the second method.

Method 2 – Check the Clean Water Tank Valve

drain the water

1. The clean water tank is the place where the water comes from and if it is not dispensing water properly then the Bissell Little Green Proheat will not spray any water.

To ensure that it was not the problem I started by taking the water off the cleaner and inspected its valve.

2. Start by checking its placement on the cleaner, make sure the clean water tank sits properly on the Bissell Little Green Proheat cleaner and the valve fits perfectly on the input valve of the cleaner.

make sure clean water tank seat properly.

3. While my tank was sitting properly on the cleaner I decided to check the output valve of the clean water tank. I started by inspecting the output valve to release water properly when pressed in.

Make sure you check for any debris or water stuck inside or near the valve that might stop the water from flowing to the cleaner. If you find any blockage remove it using cleaner water and some soft brush which will fix the problem for you.

the output valve must release water properly when pressed in.

Once I knew the hose on my cleaner was free of any debris and my clean water tank had sat perfectly on the cleaner I decided to give things a try again and to my surprise the Bissell Little Green Prohead started spraying water again and worked perfectly for me.

If yours still isn’t spraying water, it might be time to take a good look at the pump or contact support, but for most cases these two methods should do the trick for you.
