Use alloy-specific density. 5083, 5052, 6061, and 7075 are close in weight, but large plates make small density differences visible in shipping and handling totals.
Model real removed material. Large bolt patterns, access windows, waterjet nests, and corner radii can remove enough aluminium to change a lift plan or freight class.
Safety note: Aluminium plate can have sharp edges and awkward bending moments. Verify lifting capacity, clamp stability, and support spacing before moving, machining, or loading plate. Never stand under suspended material.
