I like to start my morning by making sure I feel fresh, and for that I rely on my Aquasonic toothbrush but yesterday things were pretty different.
With my eyes half closed and me being late to the office I found myself struggling with my Aquasonic toothbrush not charging. I tried everything from using a different charger to changing the outlet but nothing worked.
In the end I had to do what I thought was the only thing possible and I opened it to check what was wrong with my toothbrush. Here is how you can fix your Aquasonic toothbrush not charging issue.
I also made a short video about this topic which you can watch on YouTube. You can also watch the video below.
On the video, I disassembled the toothbrush to inspect the battery. I used a multimeter to check if it’s working fine and it did. I was able to fix the problem by soldering the broken red wire connecting the battery.
How to Fix Aquasonic Toothbrush Not Charging
I owned an Aquasonic toothbrush for a long time now and I think it was high time that it started to give me problems because I don’t have any count of how many times I have dropped this toothbrush on the floor by accident.
To fix things I started by opening the toothbrush to access its internal components and to inspect it further. You might find it difficult to find the access point to open the toothbrush but it is very easy.
After removing the brush from the top, I opened the brush from the bottom where the charging port is located.
Using a sharp tool helped me remove the bottom cover and helped me slide out the whole board and components of the Aquasonic brush.
I started by locating the battery. It is placed at the bottom of the circuitry and just above the charging base. If you see that your battery has expanded, replacing it can fix the issue for you.
My battery was fine so I started by pressing the button on the circuit to see if the toothbrush worked, but there was no movement.
Then I checked if the battery had enough voltage and for that I grabbed my multimeter and placed its prongs on the battery terminal to test the voltage.
The battery voltage came to be around 4V which was sufficient to make the toothbrush work properly but then I suddenly saw the problem.
One of the wire from the charging base was loose and the toothbrush was not being charged properly. I quickly soldered the wire back to the battery and fixed the issue for me.
If your battery voltage is far below the 3.7V mark, replacing the battery can help you fix the issue.
